When workers are injured on the job or experience some occupational disease, a no-fault system of compensation is in place to ensure a fair and just remedy. The Workers Compensation system is largely administrative, and seeks to adjudicate whether an employee’s injury was sustained while in the course and scope of employment, and whether the alleged treatment is reasonable and necessary.

At Mellon Pries Kowalski, P.C., we have experience navigating this administrative system, and have represented employers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and employees. As a compulsory insurance system, Workers Compensation relies on fairly compensating those injured on the job, while excluding those whose injuries stem from other sources. Our thorough review of claims and the medical care provided helps further the goals of this system, by focusing only on those claims which are related, removing extraneous and collateral issues, and working to settle those claims of legitimate injury in a manner which is both just and expedient.
